TT virus infection is widespread in the general populations from different geographic regions.
By PCR screening, we found an extremely high prevalence of TT virus (TTV) in the general populations from different geographic regions. This suggests that TTV may be a common DNA virus with no clear disease association in humans. TTV genotyping by phylogenetic analysis was also performed.
متن کاملA Novel High-Throughput Vaccinia Virus Neutralization Assay and Preexisting Immunity in Populations from Different Geographic Regions in China
BACKGROUND Pre-existing immunity to Vaccinia Tian Tan virus (VTT) resulting from a large vaccination campaign against smallpox prior to the early 1980s in China, has been a major issue for application of VTT-vector based vaccines. It is essential to establish a sensitive and high-throughput neutralization assay to understand the epidemiology of Vaccinia-specific immunity in current populations ...
متن کاملGenetic Diversity of Sitobion avenae (Homoptera: Aphididae) Populations from Different Geographic Regions in China
Sitobion avenae is a major agricultural pest of wheat in China. Using microsatellite markers, we studied the potential gene flow, genetic diversity, genetic differentiation, and genetic structure of seven S. avenae populations from different regions of China (Beijing, Hebei, Henan, Hubei, Jiangsu, Shandong, and Shanxi provinces). The populations from Henan, Shandong, and Jiangsu showed high lev...
متن کاملNOTE Virology TT Virus Infection in Gibbons
TT virus (TTV) is not only an infectious agent of worldwide distribution but has also been demonstrated in various non-human primates in addition to humans. In the present study, we subjected the sera of 67 gibbons to PCR and nucleotide sequencing, with subsequent phylogenetic analysis to determine the nature of the relationship between TTV found in humans and non-human primates. We discovered ...
متن کاملHerpes-type virus particles in tissue culture of Kaposi's sarcoma from different geographic regions.
Typical herpes-type virus particles were observed in 5 of 8 selected tissue culture lines derived from different cases of Kaposi's sarcoma from 2 equatorial African regions, Congo and Uganda. Common and different traits of cellular morphology related to viral involvement were found. In one line, morphologic aspects and preliminary immunologic characterization suggested a virus resembling cytome...
